Step by Step

This excursion allows you to escape the hustle and bustle of London for a day and discover Windsor, an elegant town on the banks of the Thames with centuries of links to the British monarchy. You’ll depart from London Paddington Station on a standard-class train and arrive in Windsor after changing at Slough.

The experience includes admission to Windsor Castle, the world’s largest and oldest inhabited castle and the official residence of the British monarch. The visit is self-guided, with the aid of an audio guide, and allows you to explore areas such as the luxurious State Apartments, adorned with works of art and historic furniture.

You’ll also be able to visit St George’s Chapel, one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in England and the final resting place of figures such as Henry VIII, Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II. A full tour of the castle usually takes around two hours, although you’re free to organise the rest of your day as you wish.

When booking, you can choose the option that includes the Windsor hop-on hop-off sightseeing bus. This allows you to hop on and off as often as you like to visit places such as Eton College, The Long Walk, Holy Trinity Church and other highlights of the town. For your return journey to London, you’ll be given an open-date ticket, so you can choose the train that best suits your plans.
