Step by Step

Immerse yourself in a ghostly adventure with this approximately two-hour walking tour of the haunted sites of New Orleans . Walk with a local guide through the spooky city with stories of ghosts, voodoo, vampires and witchcraft.

In groups of around 28 people you will pass by spooky sites in the heart of the French Quarter and stop at a local bar to enjoy a drink.

You will explore America's most haunted city with your guide, who will tell you spooky and mysterious legends about the haunted places of the French Quarter during this night tour.

As you walk through the alleyways at night you'll pass the New Orleans Pharmacy Museum, one of the French Quarter's most popular tourist stops that houses medieval medical devices and other relics of the past. They say the spirit of former owner Dr. Joseph Dupas still lurks in the shadows of the Pharmacy Museum.

On this tour of the most haunted areas of the entire French Quarter, you'll pass through historic Jackson Square Park and see the bronze statue of General Andrew Jackson on his horse. View a full line of handmade voodoo dolls from the window of the Voodoo Authentica shop, founded in 1996. In the heart of the French Quarter you will see the Old Ursuline Convent and here you will hear the vampire legend of the Casket Girls and how this monastery became home to a group of vampires.

As you walk through the New Orleans night, you'll learn the horrifying stories of the slaves in the haunted LaLaurie Mansion, as well as tales of ghostly characters from New Orleans' sordid past. You'll also stop at Lafitte 's Blacksmith Shop, one of the oldest bars in New Orleans and formerly the haunt of military officer Jean Lafitte's illicit privateers. Come in and enjoy a drink on your own (not included in the price) with the rest of your fellow travellers.

I enjoyed it very much. Despite going alone I felt integrated and the guide told us some very dark stories about the different neighbourhoods of New Orleans. I recommend you to go comfortable, the shoes made me feel a bit sore, it's a good place to go in slippers. Otherwise it was fabulous.
