Step by Step

The excursion begins with a journey from London to Oxfordshire, a region known for its green hills, grand historic houses and picturesque villages. The first stop will be Blenheim Palace, the birthplace and childhood home of Sir Winston Churchill, as well as one of England’s most impressive stately homes.

With admission included, you’ll be able to explore the opulent State Rooms, decorated with period furniture, tapestries and works of art linked to the Marlborough family. You’ll also have time to stroll through the gardens and admire part of the more than 800 hectares of parkland, designed by the renowned landscape architect Capability Brown.

The tour then continues to Stow-on-the-Wold, a hilltop village known for its market square, honey-coloured stone buildings and its history linked to the medieval wool trade. You’ll have free time to explore its shops, old inns and cafés, or visit the famous door of St Edward’s Church.

The final stop will be Bampton, a quiet village with limestone houses and rural streets that served as a location for the TV series Downton Abbey. After soaking up its traditional atmosphere and visiting places such as St Mary the Virgin’s Church, you’ll return to London by coach.
