Step by Step
This nocturnal gastronomic tour of Madrid is an excellent way to discover the city beyond its monuments and the usual routes. The experience proposes a walking tour through some of the most characterful areas of the historic centre, combining history, gastronomy and local atmosphere in an evening designed to savour Madrid as its inhabitants do.
The tour begins in Plaza de la Villa, one of the oldest squares in the city, where this immersion in tapas culture begins. From there, the guide accompanies the group through different corners of the city centre while sharing stories about Madrid and the unique way in which food is experienced here: standing, sharing, chatting and linking one place to another.
Along the route there are five tasting stops, each with a different personality. The experience includes markets, traditional taverns, a wine cellar and bars that are very representative of Madrid's tapas scene. Among the tastings you will find classics such as Iberian specialities, garlic prawns, market tapas and other typical proposals accompanied by local drinks, such as vermouth on tap, summer red wine or wine from the region.
The itinerary passes through well-known places such as the area around the Mercado de San Miguel, the La Latina neighbourhood, the Plaza Mayor and the area around Puerta del Sol. All this makes the experience a very attractive combination of gastronomy and urban stroll. In addition, the tour ends with a traditional Spanish dessert, closing the evening with a sweet touch.
It is important to note that the activity can be booked as a private tour or as a small group tour for up to 12 people. It is also worth knowing that, although a carefully selected route is followed, the itinerary may be adjusted depending on the opening hours or the level of affluence in some bars and restaurants. Either way, the experience maintains the same level of authenticity, quality and gastronomic variety.
