Step by Step

Your day starts in the centre of Bilbao, from where you will take the motorway into the interior of Guipúzcoa. You will drive through Eibar, Elgoibar and Azkoitia, enjoying the pre-mountainous landscape and reaching the Sanctuary of Loyola.

In Loyola you will have time to admire the Basilica (17th-18th centuries) and the tower house where Saint Ignatius was born. Your guide will explain the history of the Society of Jesus and the spiritual relevance of this site.

After the visit, you will descend towards Zumaia and then reach Getaria, an ancient medieval port nestled into the hillside. You will stroll by the Arch of Catrapona, discover the Gothic Church of San Salvador (15th century) and enjoy its seafaring atmosphere during your free time.

You will continue to the traditional Zarautz, cradle of coastal tourism since the 19th century. From there, you'll head to San Sebastian, where you'll take a guided walk through the Old Town: Virgen del Coro Church, Town Hall, Old Port, Aquarium... before taking the coach to Monte Igueldo, to contemplate the Bay of La Concha from the heights.

At the end of the day, you will return along the motorway with beautiful views and arrive back at the starting point in Bilbao mid-afternoon, with the full experience of a day of history, culture and coastline.
