Step by Step
Visit the famous Monastery of Montserrat on this 4 and a half hour tour. This monastery is located at the top of a mountain, so you can enjoy a much more natural landscape than in Barcelona. In addition, you will always be accompanied by a tour guide who will explain the history and importance of the place. It is also worth mentioning that you will taste traditional liqueurs made by the monks of the monastery themselves.
The Monastery of Montserrat is approximately 1 hour from Barcelona, but you won't have anything to worry about, as the return journey is included. This will be done in an air-conditioned vehicle to make the journey more comfortable. This vehicle will drop you off at the foot of the mountain, so you will reach the monastery by rack railway. During this climb you will be able to see the beautiful scenery and views of the mountain in a very relaxed way.
This excursion also includes the entrance to the Monastery of Montserrat. Inside you will visit the Abbey of Santa Maria Montserrat, which contains a wooden carving of the Virgin of Montserrat. This statue dates from the 12th century and is also known as the Moreneta.
