Did you know this incredible residence was restored by Gaudí in the early 20th century? Originally built in the late 1800s, it was purchased by Josep Batlló, a wealthy textile entrepreneur. Batlló initially wanted to demolish it! But Gaudí, with his brilliance, convinced him to renovate instead. Thanks to that decision, today you can enjoy this jewel, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This fascinating building sits on Barcelona's luxurious Passeig de Gràcia avenue. And it's not alone in its modernist splendor. Right next door, you'll find Casa Amatller by Josep Puig i Cadafalch, Casa Lleó Morera by Lluís Domènech i Montaner, Casa Mulleras by Enric Sagnier, and Casa Josefina Bonet by Marcel·lí Coquillat. Want more Gaudí? About 500 meters away stands another of his masterpieces: La Pedrera.
Make the most of the fascinating Casa Batlló during your Barcelona visit—it's truly one of a kind!
