Step by Step

This day trip combines the medieval grandeur of Windsor Castle with the ceremonial elegance of Buckingham Palace, offering you a complete immersion in the history and present-day reality of the British monarchy. You’ll set off early from Victoria Coach Station, in the heart of London, to make the most of the day and avoid the busiest times.

The first stop is Windsor, a fortress castle with over nine centuries of history, the official residence of 40 monarchs and the setting for royal weddings and grand state ceremonies. Here you’ll be able to visit its sumptuous State Apartments and St George’s Chapel, famous for its stunning stained-glass windows, coats of arms and as the burial place of several kings of England. You’ll also have time to stroll through the charming village of Windsor, with its traditional streets, historic pubs and views of the castle.

After the visit, you’ll return to London on the same luxury coach to head for Buckingham Palace, the monarch’s official residence and the symbolic centre of the British Crown. You’ll enter the State Rooms, the rooms used for official receptions, ceremonies and state banquets, decorated with tapestries, furniture and works of art from the Royal Collection.

The tour concludes inside Buckingham Palace itself, leaving you free time to explore the areas open to the public and the gardens at your leisure, before continuing the rest of the day in London on your own. It’s a comfortable, well-organised and very comprehensive way to experience the most regal side of London without having to worry about tickets, timetables or travel arrangements.

It is impressive that the castle, despite being so old, is still decorated in a similar way to the times when it was built.

You have to be mentally prepared for a long walk as there are not many places to rest while visiting these places. I enjoyed the tour.
