Step by Step

This tour combines the architectural beauty of Alghero with the natural pearls of its coastline. The tour takes place in an air-conditioned vehicle with Wi-Fi connection and departs from your hotel in Cagliari. It includes entrance fees to the points of interest and an expert guide .

Alghero is located on the north-west coast of Sardinia and is famous for its links with Catalonia. Upon arrival, you will be able to admire its main points of interest, including the Ramblas, the surrounding medieval walls, the Church of San Francesco and the Catalan-Gothic Cathedral of Santa Maria. In the afternoon, the itinerary continues to the following points of interest:

  • Capo Caccia: here are the beautiful Neptune's Caves, accessible by sea or through a flight of stairs dug into the rock. The caves are famous for their limestone formations and the Grotta del Bue Marino, a vast cavern with a spectacular saltwater pool once inhabited by monk seals.
  • Palmavera Complex: a complex with a large central nuraghe, a type of circular tower characteristic of Nuragic architecture that served as an administrative and defensive centre.
  • Anghelu Ruju Necropolis: an archaeological site famous for its complexes of domus de janas, prehistoric rock-cut tombs.

The children were fascinated by the Neptune Caves and the coast at Capo Caccia. We all enjoyed the authenticity of the coral tents and the visit to the archaeological site.

The views from Capo Caccia were breathtaking and the caves added a touch of mystery to our romantic getaway. Only one small drawback: the traffic on the way back to Cagliari was a bit heavy.
